The original declaration of trust was made in November 1990. It is governed by a deed which was last amended on 2nd February 1998. Its objects are to carry out activities that provide for the relief of sickness amongst persons suffering from cancer or haematological diseases in particular by the provision of a unit designed to offer chemotherapy in pleasant surroundings.
As at summer 2007, an extension to the Unit has been completed. It now corporates a Cancer Information and Support Service
Thanks to a magnificent fundraising effort, we have spent £650,000 on this project, and the Hospital Trust has funded the remaining £250,000.
The Trustees are very grateful for the continued financial support they receive from the local community by way of donations and legacies.
These funds will enable the trustees to pay for three additional nurse posts for the Cancer Care and Haematology Unit, as well as supporting the staff by financing training opportunities.
