Cancer Information and Support Service
Who are we?
The Cancer Information and Support Service at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Wycombe Hospital has been developed to ensure people affected by cancer have access to good quality, comprehensive and appropriate information and support.
The service is staffed by health professionals and supported by trained volunteers. Some of our volunteers have personal experience of living with cancer.
We can put you in touch with complementary therapists, finance and benefits advisors, and other local and national support groups.
What we offer
We offer support and information to anyone who has concerns about cancer, their relatives, friends and carers.
Information
You are welcome to come and visit our information room with free guided internet access and a library; our resources are either free or can be borrowed. Some of these resources are suitable for people with special needs or are available in different languages.
Support
We can listen to you and discuss how cancer is affecting your life. We also have facilities for support meetings, art therapy and relaxation classes and provide prosthetic breast and wig fittings.
What people ask us?
How can I learn more about the type of cancer I have?
Who can I speak to about benefits advice?
Do you have information on local and national support groups?
How do you talk to other people about cancer?
How do I tell the children?
Opening hours
Monday to Friday, usually between 9.30am and 4.00pm
